A Stroll Through Sudbury’s Creative Side
This September, Sudbury will be alive with colour, craft, and conversation. Over two weekends, local artists are joining forces in welcoming hubs across the town — so you can wander between them, discover something new at every stop, and meet the makers behind the work.

From vibrant oil paintings to intricate textiles, playful prints to traditional crafts, the Art Trail is a chance to see art in action. Many artists will be demonstrating their skills, so you can watch creativity unfold before your eyes — and perhaps take home a piece that speaks to you.

Highlights include mixed-media showcases at Salters Hall, prints and crafts at Priory Gate, watercolours and oils at Ransoms, contemporary works at the Art & Framing Centre, and a special textiles exhibition by Eleanor Mills at Mill Tye Gallery & Arts Centre in Great Cornard.

With each hub just a short walk from the next, and Sudbury’s historic streets as your backdrop, the Art Trail is the perfect way to spend a September day.

14th and 15th June 2025

Members of Suffolk Open Studios living in and around Sudbury will be opening their studios as part of an Art Trail over the weekend of 14th and 15th June 2025 including ceramics, drawings, paintings, prints, sculpture and textiles. It is a brilliant opportunity for you to see artists and makers at work in their studios, talk to them about what inspires them and to buy their art direct. You can also visit the Mill Tye Gallery, a 20 minute walk via the Gainsborough Trail, from Sudbury town centre, which specialises in screen and lino-cut prints.
